Hadley Hockensmith and Greg Roz have teamed up to create NUUVA.
Nuuva is the new musical partnership of Hadley Hockensmith and Greg Roz—two accomplished musicians united by a shared passion for exceptional songwriting, memorable melodies, and deep, infectious grooves.
Hadley brings a lifetime of songwriting and musical experience to the project. Hadley spent many years in the Los Angeles studio scene refining his melodic sensibilities, all the while touring for 34 years as Neil Diamond's guitarist while also helping define the sound of the acclaimed LA fusion band Koinonia as a founding member. His gift for melody and song-craft forms the foundation of Nuuva's music.
Greg is a complete musician whose expressive keyboard playing and groove-driven drumming give Nuuva its unmistakable feel. Equally at home behind the keys or the drum kit, he combines musical sophistication with an instinctive sense of rhythm and dynamics.
Although they lived on opposite sides of the country—Hadley in Los Angeles and Greg on the East Coast—the two met online through their shared love of music. Hadley was immediately struck by the quality of Greg's original songs, recognizing a rare combination of musicality, originality, and emotional depth. That first impression sparked a collaboration that quickly grew into a true creative partnership.
Together, Nuuva creates music that is both timeless and fresh—rooted in the classic sounds they love while pushing toward something entirely their own. www.nuuva.net

Greg Roz: The Evolution of Sound, Studio, and NUUVA
Greg’s lifelong obsession with sound began at the piano, winning the Gene Pitney talent show just a few years after his very first lesson. As a boy, he didn't just listen to the radio; he deconstructed it, fascinated by how different tones and arrangements blended to create a specific emotional mood. By high school, his vocal talents earned him a rare freshman spot in the Greater Hartford Youth Chorale, though his musical curiosity soon led him to a new primary passion: the drums.
Armed with a sharp ear and a growing multi-instrumental toolkit, Greg spent his teenage years tucked away in his bedroom. Using a 4-track tape machine, he mastered the meticulous arts of overdubbing and track-bouncing to bring his very first original compositions to life.
While Greg spent the next 40 years building a successful career in manufacturing to support his wife and three children, music remained his constant heartbeat. He spent decades performing in local bands and quietly honing his production skills. In 2003, a breakthrough arrived when he transitioned into the digital realm, embracing Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and VST plugins to expand his sonic canvas.
Shortly after, Greg released his debut CD, Always Room to Grow. The project caught the attention of itsaboutmusic.com, earning him a spot as a featured artist alongside classic hitmakers like The Buckinghams, Michael Sembello, and Andy Pratt. His holiday track, "First Real Christmas," was also selected for the label's seasonal sampler CD. This era of creativity sparked an unexpected, long-term friendship and collaboration with Neil Diamond’s legendary guitarist, Hadley Hockensmith.
Having officially retired from his day job, Greg’s creative output has exploded. After spending a year building and perfecting his private recording studio, he kicked off a highly prolific new chapter with the release of Arrival. Rather than slowing down, the studio walls have been working overtime; Greg quickly followed his studio debut with two more full-length albums, Patchwork and Cornerstone, alongside a steady stream of standalone singles.
The ultimate culmination of his studio workflow and decades of friendship arrived just yesterday. Taking their long-running musical chemistry to the next level, Greg and Hadley Hockensmith have officially formed the collaborative duo NUUVA. Their debut single, "West of Home," marks a major milestone in Greg's journey—translating years of unreleased back-and-forth ideas into a polished, definitive commercial release. From bedroom 4-tracks to international streaming services, Greg’s sonic architecture continues to evolve with no signs of stopping
With musical interests in the likes of Randy Goodrum, Monkey House, Tomi Malm, Steely Dan and Jay Graydon, Greg will be releasing music that has many influences from these great artists.
As things expand, plans are to include some of the best local musicians contributing to the party and to add some extra spice. And please check out the "Artist Links" page. Exceptional artists endorsed by Roz.
